My Writing Process

My writing process is always different depending on what I am writing on. The first thing I do is get out a paper and brainstorm a little. I do not like typing it out first, I prefer to write it out. The hardest thing about writing for me is making it longer. Once I am out of ideas it is hard for me to continue the writing. It is also hard for me to edit my own paper. A couple of things I am good are starting a paper, once I get an idea I am good about finishing the paper pretty fast. So the first thing I do is write a draft, after that I type it out usually changing a lot of things. Once I start typing I either change sentences or add things. After I finish typing out the essay I like to read it edit the format and then leave it alone for a while. I like to come back later and read it again checking for mistakes. Once I print it out I read it one last time before I turn it in. Every once in a while when the teacher wants a draft first and then gives back the first one I like to edit it to get as much points possible. I need to work on making my papers longer. When ever it is a 4-5 page essay and I have almost 4 pages it is hard to add once I am already done with the paper. This blog might help by allowing me to practice writing and maybe giving me ideas on papers by looking at other peoples writing.

  1. It seems like a pretty good writing process, Daniel. In Wednesday's class I'll share a revision strategy that might help you make your papers longer.
