Turkle
This article is a podcast that is also written down so you can read it or listen to it. The video is made by Sherry Turkle and she talks about how in 1996 she gave a talk about how important technology was. Now she has changed her mind. She said that people are becoming less social and more reliant on social media and technology. Turkle is a psychologist and studies the affects technology has on people. She gives many examples like a guy at work who would rather be on his blackberry than talk to coworkers. How people go on social media no matter where they are funerals, work, meetings, being with family members. People are taking their focus off of conversations because with technology you are able to control, edit, and hide who you really are. I agree with Turkle when texting you can control and think about what you are going to say, when you are having a conversation once you say something you cannot edit or delete what you just said. Technology is become a problem and I also see it everyday. I can never really get anyone's full attention because everyone is always on their phones. My parents or siblings and friends talk to me but ignore stuff I say because they are busy texting or checking social media. I myself in class sometimes bring out my phone sometimes I get urges when I do not check my phone for a while. This is becoming a problem we all need to work on before we all become social robots.

That happens to me too, but I also do it unconciously to others. It sucks and I know I should not do it but it still happens. We have to start working hard so that we can stop doing this and we learn how to communicate better.
